Welcome to My TDEE Calculator. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and [Your name or registered business name] (“we”, “us”, “our”) governing your use of mytdeecalculators.com and everything on it (the “Site”).

By accessing or using the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Health disclaimer — please read this first

The Site provides general educational information only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for the judgement of a qualified healthcare professional.

The calculator returns mathematical estimates derived from published formulas. It does not know your medical history, your medications, your hormone levels, your training history, or anything else about your circumstances. No doctor–patient, dietitian–client, or other professional relationship is created by your use of this Site.

Always consult a physician or registered dietitian before changing your diet, calorie intake, or exercise routine — and especially before acting on any figure this Site produces if you:

  • are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
  • are under 18 or over 65
  • have diabetes, thyroid disease, kidney disease, heart disease, or any chronic condition
  • take medication affecting appetite, metabolism, or fluid balance
  • have any history of an eating disorder or disordered eating
  • are recovering from surgery, injury, or illness

Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read here. If you think you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

Severe calorie restriction carries genuine health risks and should only be undertaken under medical supervision.

2. Nature and accuracy of the calculations

The Site estimates Basal Metabolic Rate and Total Daily Energy Expenditure using established equations, including Mifflin-St Jeor and Katch-McArdle, together with standard activity multipliers. Our methodology is explained on the About page.

You acknowledge and accept that:

  • All results are estimates, not measurements. Only laboratory methods such as indirect calorimetry measure energy expenditure directly.
  • Individual variation is substantial. Genetics, hormones, medication, sleep, illness, body composition, and unconscious movement all affect real energy expenditure, and no formula captures them.
  • Published equations typically fall within roughly 10 percent of measured values for healthy adults — useful for planning, but not precise.
  • Results are only as good as your inputs. Inaccurate figures, especially an unreliable body-fat estimate, will produce an unreliable result.
  • The Site is not a diagnostic tool. BMI in particular is a crude population-level screening measure and can misclassify muscular, elderly, pregnant, and some non-European-ancestry individuals.

We make no warranty that any result will be accurate for you or that following it will produce any particular outcome.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, to use this Site. By using it you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Permitted use

You may use the Site freely for your own personal, non-commercial purposes: run the calculator as often as you like, read our articles, and share links to our pages.

You may quote short extracts from our written content for commentary, teaching, or review provided you attribute the material to My TDEE Calculator and link to the page you took it from.

5. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

  • copy, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of our content without written permission
  • present our content as your own, or remove copyright and attribution notices
  • reproduce, mirror, embed, or rebuild our calculator on another website or in an application
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of our tools other than as permitted by law
  • use automated systems — scrapers, bots, crawlers — to harvest content or place unreasonable load on our servers
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, or interfere with its security or availability
  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could harm, disable, or impair it
  • use the Site or its content to train machine learning or artificial intelligence models without our written permission

We may restrict or terminate access for anyone who breaches these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Site including text, articles, layout, graphics, logos, and the code behind the calculator is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

The mathematical equations themselves are published scientific work in the public domain and belong to their original researchers; our particular implementation, presentation, and explanatory content do not.

7. Advertising and third-party content

The Site displays advertising served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense, which is how it stays free to use.

We do not select, endorse, or vet individual advertisements, and their appearance does not constitute a recommendation. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are strictly between you and that advertiser; we are not responsible for the goods, services, claims, or conduct of any third party.

We may link to external websites for reference. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or accuracy, and inclusion of a link is not an endorsement. You follow external links at your own risk.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Site available and accurate, but we provide no guarantee of uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, update, or discontinue any part of the Site including the calculator and any content at any time and without notice.

We may also correct or improve our formulas and content. Results obtained previously may therefore differ from results obtained later.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Site will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site is free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, liability, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The current version will always be posted here with a “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, so please check back occasionally.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that the courts of USA shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.

15. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will stay in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Medical Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
